Statement from WBA President Julia Huston
Governor Patrick Nominates Judge Margot Botsford to the Supreme Judicial Court The WBA is delighted that the Governor's office has made as its first judicial nomination Judge Margot Botsford, an exceedingly qualified woman, to the Supreme Judicial Court.
We offer our congratulations to
Judge Botsford on this milestone, as well as to the people of
Massachusetts who seek a judiciary that reflects the diversity
of the Commonwealth. The WBA recently met with the Governor's
legal counsel on the very issue of diversity on the bench. We
have high hopes for this administration and plan to fulfill our
promise to work with it to continue to ensure that
well-qualified women apply for and attain these most important
positions in public service.
